Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using the Southern Cross Lottery website or any of our services. By accessing or using our platform you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, purchasing a lottery ticket, or otherwise accessing or using the Southern Cross Lottery platform (the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

Southern Cross Lottery Pty Ltd ("we", "us", or "the Company", ABN 67 123 456 789) reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service following notice of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility & Age Verification

You must meet the following requirements to use our Service:

  • Age: You must be at least 18 years of age. We operate a strict 18+ policy in compliance with the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901 (NSW) and all applicable Australian state and territory laws.
  • Residency: Our services are available to residents of Australia only, subject to local state and territory regulations.
  • Identity: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep that information up to date.
  • One Account: You may only hold one active account. Duplicate or fraudulent accounts will be immediately terminated and any associated winnings forfeited.

We reserve the right to request identity documents at any time to verify your eligibility. Failure to provide satisfactory verification may result in suspension or termination of your account.

3. Account Registration & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account;
  • Use a strong, unique password and not share it with any third party;
  • Log out of your account after each session, especially on shared devices;
  • Not allow any other person to use your account to purchase tickets or claim prizes.

We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this section.

4. Ticket Purchase & Entry

All ticket purchases are subject to the following conditions:

  • Tickets are sold in Australian dollars (AUD) and all transactions are processed at the advertised price at time of purchase.
  • A ticket is not valid until payment has been successfully processed and a confirmation reference is issued to you.
  • It is your responsibility to check that your ticket details are correct before completing a purchase. We are unable to cancel or amend tickets once a draw has closed.
  • Entry cut-off times vary by game. Please refer to the individual game page for specific deadlines. Tickets purchased after the cut-off will be entered in the next available draw.
  • We reserve the right to refuse, limit, or cancel any ticket purchase at our sole discretion.

5. Draws, Results & Prize Claims

Draw results are published on our website and via notification to registered members as soon as practicable after each draw. Southern Cross Lottery acts as an authorised agent; official draws are conducted by the relevant state lottery corporation.

5.1 Claiming Your Prize

  • Prizes under $1,000 AUD are credited automatically to your account balance within 24 hours of the draw result being confirmed.
  • Prizes of $1,000 AUD and above require identity verification before payment is processed. You must submit valid photo identification within 30 days of the draw.
  • Major prizes (Division 1) are subject to independent validation and may take up to 90 days to process.

5.2 Unclaimed Prizes

Prize claims must be made within 12 months of the relevant draw date. After this period, unclaimed prizes are forfeited and transferred to the relevant state prize fund in accordance with applicable legislation.

5.3 Prize Disputes

In the event of any dispute regarding a prize, the decision of Southern Cross Lottery, in consultation with the relevant state lottery authority, is final and binding.

6. Payments & Withdrawals

We accept payments via the methods displayed at checkout. All payment information is transmitted over secure, encrypted connections. We do not store full card details on our servers.

  • Withdrawals are processed to the same payment method used for deposit wherever possible.
  • Withdrawal requests are processed within 3–5 business days, subject to successful identity verification.
  • We reserve the right to conduct anti-money-laundering (AML) checks before processing any withdrawal. Additional documentation may be required.
  • Minimum withdrawal amount is $10 AUD. Withdrawal fees, if any, are displayed at the time of the withdrawal request.

7. Responsible Gaming

Southern Cross Lottery is committed to promoting responsible gambling. We provide a range of tools to help you stay in control, including deposit limits, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion. Full details are available on our Responsible Gaming page.

You agree to use these tools appropriately and to inform us immediately if you believe you may have a gambling problem. We reserve the right to impose limits or close accounts where we have reasonable concern for a player's welfare.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, databases, or other user accounts;
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other software to interact with the Service;
  • Engage in any form of fraud, including but not limited to payment fraud or identity fraud;
  • Collude with other users to manipulate ticket selections or prize outcomes;
  • Attempt to exploit any bug, error, or vulnerability in the Service;
  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or resell any part of the Service without our express written permission.

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination, forfeiture of any balance or prizes, and referral to the relevant law enforcement authorities.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Southern Cross Lottery Pty Ltd or its licensors and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Any other use requires our prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Southern Cross Lottery and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from:

  • Your access to, or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service;
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
  • Any content obtained from the Service;
  • Unauthorised access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for the resolution of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service.

Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting our support team. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days of receiving notice.
